Prism Bags Largest Powder coating plant order in Chennai

Prism surface coatings has bagged yet another feather in its cap which is the largest powder coating plant order for a Japanese company known as Fujitec in chennai. The location is Mahindra world city. This is the first time a Fujitec has awarded a powder coating plant to a non Japanese company such as Prism after visitng our plant.

We thank Fujitec for this wonderful opportunity given to us to be part of their growth story in India.Prism has installed numerous powder coating plants for various manufacturers in Chennai.

Why Prism Never Uses Pre coated sheets/Corrugated sheets in Drying Ovens?

One of the cost cutting tricks or cutting on quality used in the paint shop industry is to use pre coated sheets and corrugated sheets in paint and powder coating drying ovens. As a company its against our founders policy and company’s policy to indulge in such methods. However customers must know why certain suppliers use this and what are the disadvantages of using these type of sheets in their ovens.

The first disadvantage is it takes lot of time to install such sheets. It requires site fabrication and the structures are usually not stable enough for using it as a drying oven. The second disadvantage is the strength of the material of precoated or corrugated is very less and is prone to damage if an external force is applied. GI panels have much more stability and strength in its structures. The third disadvantage is that precoated sheets destroy the aesthetics of the oven or the plant. These were old cost cutting tricks used by the Chinese and still used by many Indian paint shop suppliers present in Pune and Delhi.

LATEST TECHNOLOGIES IN PAINT SHOP

Prism over the years have a track record of having supplied high performing powder coating plants and Paint Shops which last for over 15-20 years. In our r&d center in Bangalore we have developed many technologies that is realistic, affordable and can give immediate benefits in your paint shop in terms of energy and paint savings. These technologies have been developed over the years. Here are some of our latest technologies in paint shops  that we currently offer:

  1. Magic Painter Gun– This is a revolutionary gun that can save you around 50% paint and it does not use compressed air. It eliminates complete paint over spray and paint fog which occurs in almost all guns in today’s market. It gives a transfer efficiency around 85-90% and it supplies warm dry air between 45-60 degrees Celsius. As it does not use compressed air it eliminates all issues related to compressed air such as oil and moisture. This gun can be used to paint any object except for shipyards where ver high viscous paint are used.
  2. Gas catalytic oven – This oven can bring down drying/curing time drastically and only consumes 50% fuel compared to normal traditional conventional ovens. This can be used in powder coating or painting. It can also be used as a booster oven to reduce the length of the conventional oven to reduce investment costs. This also speeds up the drying time.
  3. UV Powder coating– UV powder coating is the next game changer in the powder coating industry where you can dry UV powder in less than a minute compared to traditional powder coating which takes between 20 -25 minutes to dry. A UV-cured powder system can produce more material in a given period of time. This results in an increased operating capacity, reduced WIP inventory, lower cost of quality, less energy usage, and increased profits per hour. All of these factors lead to a higher ROI. UV-curable powder coating is faster and uses less energy than other finishing processes. This key benefit allows you to coat more products in less time while using less energy without damaging the substrate. This increases productivity and reduces running costs. UV powder can be reused just like normal powder which reduces your running costs.
  4. Pneumatic 3 axis man lift platform– This platform is fitted in paint and blast booths to paint or blast large objects. This increases operator comfort and reduces fatigue. It also help in bring down refinishing costs. It is powered only by air and since a paint booth is an explosive atmosphere we dont use hydraulic or electric which can cause explosions. Our platforms are CE certified and have been exported to Europe and USA. Widely used in railways, aerospace, trucks, bus, windmills and any large fabricated machinery.

All the above technologies are present in our R&D lab and customers are welcome to come and see it for themselves to believe what we are offering.

PRISM BAGS POWDER COATING PLANT PROJECT IN COIMBATORE

Prism has installed many powder coating plants and paint booths in Coimbatore.

Difference between Gas Catalytic Oven and Electric Infrared Oven

Gas catalytic oven uses radiation heat transfer technique  to heat only the paint and powder without heating the surface. Electric Infrared Oven  use electric infrared heaters to radiate heat into a part. The ovens can be designed in various shapes and for nearly any process involving heat treatment. Gas catalytic oven is the most cost effective and energy efficient curing solution. Compared to electric infrared, gas catalytic infrared uses significantly less energy to operate. These ovens are commonly used for curing powder coatings on nearly any substrate. Further life of the electric heaters are less which means higher replacement costs which will increase your maintenance costs. Gas catalytic infrared ovens do not rely on heated, moving air to increase the part temperature.  This reduces opportunities for cross-contamination or blowing off un-cured powder on powder coated parts.Electric infrared ovens are the fastest way to heat a part. For extremely small spaces and fast line speeds, electric infrared energy will transfer the infrared energy faster than gas catalytic infrared ovens. gas catalytic ovens can bring down drying time drastically and also it uses less fuel bringing down energy costs.
